The Irish Setter Club of the Pacific.(SF) (ISCP) was formed in 1945 as an unincorporated club when a group of Irish Setter Fanciers in the San Francisco area felt it was time for Northern California to have a specialty club. At that time there were no clubs in the areas that were solely an Irish Setter Club. The Irish Setter Club of Southern California had been in existence for many years. In February 1965 ISCP was incorporated under the corporation laws of the State of California as a non-profit organization and became known as it is today “ The Irish Setter Club of the Pacific, Inc. (San Francisco.) The club has members in many of the western states so it’s member ship ranges far.
Organized to foster and promote the popularity of Purebred Irish Setters; sportsman like rivalry combined with friendly cooperation between owners, breeders, the exhibitors and others interested in the breed; to educate our members and the public concerning these magnificent dogs, their standards, training, breeding, care; to organize exhibitions , puppy matches , specialty shows, obedience events and field trials; to conduct business in compliance with rules and regulations of the State of California, the ISCA and the AKC; cooperate and encourage all others to cooperate with the Irish Setter Club of America and to observe the rules of the American Kennel Club.
